Djenne

Definitely traveling in Africa you may see a lot of interesting and beautiful places, wonderful nature and ancient cities, which have proves for the creation of the world, which nobody knows. The city Djenne is such ancient town, which is situated in southern part of Mali. The city is the oldest Sub-Saharan city, which is making it unique and very attractive for the travelers and tourists from all over the world. The city is situated in alluvial plain formed by the rivers Niger and Bani in the heart of African continent. Of course the city is quite small and only the people, who really love Africa, but travel to Djenne is really great destination. The city is well known with unique architecture and the Great Mosque. The Great Mosque is unusual among the mosques in West Africa in that place, which were built before it was not sacred, and there was no palace. Most of the other mosques were built on the sites of conical mud or stone structures, symbolizing the spirits of the ancestors. Some scholars of the Islamic architecture considered that these forms are then integrated into the architecture of mosques in Mali, as the Great Mosque is the most famous example. The walls of the Grand Mosque are built of sun-baked clay bricks, called Ferre clay mortar. Covered with plaster of clay, which gives a smooth sculpted look of the building. Definitely this is one of the best travel sightseeing in Asia.
